UW Health East Madison Hospital

This is a beautiful hospital and well designed. As this was my first time, I found the layout of the floors easy to navigate from the elevators. They use letters instead of numbers for the offices. There is a beautiful gift shop and wonderful little coffee shop that serves breakfast burritos, sandwiches and pastries. My concern was the parking area for the handicapped is too far away from the entrance. The elevator was too far away from the entrance. They should consider adding valet parking for those who have handicap placards or disability identification cards. My Rheumatologist and every professional I met today was kind and helpful.

Dr. Kristin Long is absolutely amazing. She has taken care of me for the past 5 years. Dr. Long is knowledgeable, caring, and up on the latest treatments available. I was diagnosed with a rare thyroid cancer and she is so smart and confident I was immediately put at ease. UW facilities a d staff are all superb. You will be in great hands.

It would be nice if more parking were available. I had to park past the ER for a PT appointment on the other end of the facility. Fortunately I had shoulder surgery so walking wasn’t bad. Anybody going for PT on a knee? Well, they would be out of luck. With a shoulder in an immobilizer, I can only throw a coat over my shoulders and hope the wind wouldn’t blow it off. I tried to enter the ER door and use the interior hallway and was told I had to walk outdoors. Not very helpful when it’s cold and windy. My therapist does a great job. The5 stars are for him, the parking gets 1 star.

My video appointment with Dr. Lidor was excellent, as have been all interactions with her. I reported having felt that I had turned a corner in my post-op recovery and was doing well. Dr. Lidor went over every element of my condition and took time to discuss my dietary needs and to suggest foods. Very thorough. The care I have received by Dr. Lidor, her nurse practitioners, and her front desk staff has been phenomenal. I am a nurse and my standards for the medical/nursing care provided to me is high and exceptionally rigid. Dr. Lidor and her staff exceeded my expectations. They are a model team with the highest level of excellence and caring I had cancelled my much needed surgery twice before I had it on 11/7/23. I was terrified. Dr. Lidor had told me in advance of my surgery that she would be out of the office during my post- op surgical stay and one of her partners would provide follow up. I had a post-op complication and Dr. Lidor took time to personally call me even though she was out. This was over and above what she was required to do. She was kind and was concerned that she had not told me in advance of my surgery that she was going to be out, though she had done so. Thank - you.

The P/A ( Lisa), was excellent. I had called on Monday and a nurse was going to forward my request for medication, which never happened. I was disappointed with that outcome. My P/A, Lisa took care of everything that I needed. She was also very informative though out my visit. Lisa felt bad about what happened on Monday and I told her it wasn’t her fault. She was a true professional, and said we are a team here and things like that reflect on the whole team. Thank you, Lisa for your concern.
